Ethanol Plant - Condensate Removal Solution

Problem: Tremendous water hammer and production efficiency issues due to modulating steam temperature control.

Solution: Installed a Kadant Johnson Float Free Liqui-Mover PumpTrap to effectively remove the condensate from the heat exchanger for better heat transfer and overcome back pressure issues.

Outcome: Customer has experienced overall energy saving due to an increase in heat transfer, lower required operating steam pressure, and eliminated water hammer problems.

Potato Plant - Automation Solutions

Problem: Valve and actuation failures due to high temperatures and high cycle rates.

Solution: Install compact four piston actuators and valve packages in order to improve the efficiency of process and overall maintenance.

Outcome: Reduction in maintenance, down time, improved cycle life of actuation. Customer has used these products for several years without issues.

College Campus - Hot Water Solution

Problem: Customer experienced leak in 500 gallon hot water storage tank, heated with tube bundle 15 pound steam continuously.

Solution: To remove the tank tube bundle and install Graham instantaneous water heater.

Outcome: A great reduction in steam usage, reduction in space and overall efficacy improvement. Customer was pleased with new solution.

Minnesota Prison - Condensate Solution

Problem: Customer had broken underground condensate return line. Had loss of condensate, loss of chemical and makeup water increase.

Solution: Installed Johnson Liqui-Mover on the air handler capturing all the condensate. Also elevated the return line to a common return.

Outcome: Customer was very pleased with the project and is planning on installing more units throughout the facility. Customer also experienced cost savings due to the fact these units use no motors, no electricity and no maintenance.
